I have been a batchelor all week since the little wifey is in Wichita visiting the Grandson.... I decided to use the broiler and cook a chicken breast.... I cooked it on both sides for about 5 minutes.... ate dinner and then poured about 2/3 cup of water on the broiler.... cleanup was a snap and the chicken was great....

My question is this... why is the broiler so much easier to clean up then the griddle? Did I use too much heat when I cooked the pancakes?

Isn't the broiler great!! It is easy to clean, if you add warm/hot soapy water while it's still hot & let cool down and wash.

The griddle........what a pain in the *ss to clean and keep clean!! Splatters just bake in when you use the broiler. I wish someone has a great tip to keeping it clean without a lot of elbow grease!!

After my last experience with the griddle.... severe case of tennis elbow from cleaning... I went out and purchased a cast iron griddle from the Lodge Co.... I put it in place of the aluminum.... much easier to clean.. but I do have to store it somewhere....

I highly recommend you try the new Dawn Power Dissolver for cleaning the griddle.

Berlyn,

I do have a sand blasting cabinet with glass beads.. hate to use it everytime I use my griddle though....

BTW, when I 1st brought Addie home, I somehow found your site on the internet, (the essay on how you restored your stove), it inspired me to take Addie apart and go through her.... Then I found Mark's story and continued...

Thanks,

Yes, I use Cameo/ammonia, but darn my elbow can scrub for just so long.

Gasseous,
You have the sand blaster, but use glass beads, correct??
